Hello, weary traveller.

My name is Aleksej (pronounced Alexei or Alex-eeee). I am an illustrator with a focus on all things horror and sometimes a little comedy. I am based in Devon, UK.

I make images that tell stories, with a variety of mark making techniques and multimedia approaches. I also design and sculpt small figures and toys. Sometimes I enjoy designing packaging and branding for my own products.

My inspirations come from 80s movie posters, urban myths and ghost stories, and my 90s childhood (especially the Goosebumps book covers and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark!)

My eldest sister gave me a VHS tape of The Ring when I was 8 years old and it changed my life (for the better!). My heart lies in the horror genre and visual storytelling, so I set out to marry the two and create haunting narrative work.

My own daily experiences with chronic pain, disability, mental illness and being LGBT+ also influence my work, giving a visual voice to the struggles many of us experience daily.
